DELIVERING MAJOR UPGRADES FOR FOXFIELD OVAL HALL

A re-elected Albanese Labor Government would put $1.5 million towards redeveloping Foxfield Oval Hall in Athelstone.

This election commitment will go towards upgrading the hall to provide a fit-for-purpose space that can keep up with community demand.

The project will include providing internal and accessible toilets, a larger hall floor space with better acoustics and kitchen functionality, more storage and better access.

Foxfield Oval Hall is regularly used for events run by our local sporting and community groups.

It has been the home of Athelstone Table Tennis Club for more than 60 years and is also used by the Athelstone Football Club, Athelstone Cricket Club and a private boxing gym.

Built more than 60 years ago, this ageing facility does not meet current demand or accessibility requirements.

This redevelopment will address these concerns and ensure the hall can be enjoyed well into the future.

The local community and the City of Campbelltown have been advocating for this project, and Federal Labor has listened.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.

Quotes attributable to Claire Cutterham, Labor Candidate for Sturt:

“Foxfield Hall has always been a place where people come together – whether it’s for sport, local meetings or community gatherings,” Ms Clutterham said.

“This funding will mean a brand new, modern and accessible space that reflects the needs of a growing community. It’s about investing in the community and delivering accessible spaces for every resident.”

Quotes attributable to Jill Whittaker, Mayor of the City of Campbelltown:

“Foxfield Hall has served this community well for many decades – but it’s due for an upgrade,” Mayor Whittaker said.

“It means we can deliver a fit-for-purpose facility that our residents can be proud of.”
