ESSENTIAL WOMEN’S FACILITIES FOR NORWOOD FOOTBALL CLUB

A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will invest $310,000 towards the construction of new female changerooms at Norwood Oval, home of the Norwood Football Club.

The Norwood Football Club is an institution in Sturt and their women’s side is already proving to be a major success, claiming the inaugural SANFLW premiership in 2017.

Women’s sport is growing rapidly in Australia, including at the highest levels like the SANFLW, and the players deserve facilities that reflect their status as elite athletes, competing in a high-performance environment.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.

Quotes attributable to Claire Clutterham, Labor Candidate for Sturt:

“I am so proud to deliver this election commitment for new women’s changerooms at the Norwood Football Club, which will deliver modern and fit for purpose facilities for the women’s team.

“The Redlegs are ingrained in our community’s history and these upgrades mean that the women’s team can continue kicking goals in an environment they deserve.”
